its not as easy to maintain one of these things as i thought it would be. I know its been forever but here i am. Its right at 11 on a Sunday night, PT with the air force in 8 hours so im good.
time.
not easy to find, ive found this out.
just finding it isnt the hard part, its making sure that your using it the best you could. I love where i am and what im studying, Air Force ROTC has been my main focus up to this point. Grades are first, thats what gets me through ROTC so i can commision as an Officer when i graduate. Which is my main goal in doing everything ive done in the past 5 months. u need a 91 physical fitness score and 3.3. GPA upon completing my second year here to get a shot at becoming an officer. So please, pray for that to happen.
let me explain, ROTC is more than just Physical Training in the morning, and a class i take about the military. Its what prepares me to be in charge of men younger and older than me one day. If all goes correctly God willing, when i am 22 years old i will be a second lietunant, this means I will have a leadership role. If i am not prepared to give these men the right direction, they could lose their lives. i have learned so much from just the few weeks of this program.
NOTE: I have gotten myself into a slightly advanced program called Arnold Air Society, the basically train more intense and a little quicker then regular ROTC. This is good because i can use the knowledge i get to the advantadge of the kids who dont know. Already i can help people, just as i would in the Air Force.
As you can see it means a lot to me. thats just an update on my main focus at this point, enough of that.
i miss everyone back home but i get a few holiday breaks coming up and i get to see a lot of people. that feels good. i didnt realize i was this mentally strong. i left home, on not the best note in the world, drove 8 hours away to start preparing myself for my career. yet now im fine? I didnt understand the first few weeks why i was so okay with my past decisions that got me here.
now i understand.
I stayed faithful as best i could, and never gave up hope that listening to God would make it okay. Im here, i listened, and i feel amazing.

So far...blog one.
Blog one.
ive learned people have a hard time tracking what ive been up to, switching phones numbers constantly, changing schools numerous times, or even where i happen to be living this month. haha. my sister suggested this and think its a good idea, no more wondering about vincent ramsey, ive got this.
its september 11th 2010, actually september 12th now, its past midnight. im not sure how blogs work but ive got a lot on my mind so i might as well get it all out somehow. i will be very informal in my writing, thats how it should be. since this is number one ill start with the basics and details can come later.
i am a christian and love my God, thats the basis of everything in my life. i do not want to get into all that just on my first blog so that can wait.
second, my "still supporting" family is pretty incredible. ill get into the details of that later as well. i seem to have become a pretty complex guy, after being such a simple minded child.
lastly, airplanes. a passion that sprang upon me quickly and hasnt seem to let me go yet. that brings me to where i am now, my dorm room.
I want to start from where i am now.
things have happened since ive been here but i want to start from where i am now. things have happened that were horrible just so i could get here, but i want to start from where i am now. relationships were busted, feelings were hurt, and friends lost to get here, but i want to start from where i am now. lastly, an unbelievable effort was made to get me here, dedication and determination were my weapons, and the chance to find out who truly had my happiness at heart became evident, but i want to start from where i am now.
SO where is where i am now?
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. the most advanced and elaborate flight school in the nation. located in daytona beach florida and having just over 70 personal aircraft for student pilots, im loving it. not just a flight school but a university as well, i am majoring in Aeronautical Science, or what i like to call "Flying 101". sure it may cost the same as buying a small home, or 7 mercedes benz's, or even my own new plane! not to mention the 16 to one guy girl ratio, its painful. but i take pride in what my degree will say when i am finished.
Exactly what im doing
im set up on a pre planned system to gain my private pilots license, it consists of oral lessons, simulator lessons (not just any simulator lessons), and actual flights. Ive flown myself with an instructor twice now and have just at 4 hours logged. now these four hours were not just four hours in an airplane flying, they were the four most glorious, unbelievable, and refreshing hours of my life. with thousands more to come.
i wont go on too long since this is blog one, i plan on getting into how i am feeling from day to day and the events that happen. of course ill update you on each flight and how it felt. theres still so much more to tell. theres campus life, missing my friends and family, the infamous "whiskey 3" boys (which is my dorm floor) weve become sort of celebrities here at school, and also the people i meet along with new adventures.
hakuna matata.
